 | Looking after your rods Watch where you put it. Keep your rods away from excessive heat and places where they could be stepped on, crushed, scratched, shut in car doors etc. Treat your rods and tackle with care and keep them where they are orderly and safe.No more than 90 degrees. Avoid bending or pulling back your rod past the point at which the grip and line create a 90-degree angle. While your rod is designed to be flexible, going past the 90-degree position puts unnecessary stress on the rod. Don't free lures with your rod. We have a tendency to pull back on the rod if we get a snag. Don't! If your lure becomes snagged, use lure-freeing equipment or simply cut your lure free, activate our reel's line release mechanism and take hold of the line past the rod's tip. If you are using your rod in salt water be sure to rinse with fresh water and wipe down after every use.
